About Cashmere
Cashmere refers to a fine type of Kashmiri wool which comes from the downy underbelly of either of the 4 breeds of Kashmiri or Cashmere goat namely: Changthangi from the Changthang Plateau in Kashmir region, Malra from Kargil area in Kashmir region, Chegu from Himachal Chyangara (or Nepalese Pashmina goat) from Nepal.
The density of the cashmere wool determines its fineness and premium handfeel. Lower the microns the finer and warmer the wool and better the insulation.
Generic cashmere ranges from 12–21 microns in diameter. A handwoven cashemere textile insulates better and last longer in comparison to a machine made product.
* This product has been woven on a handloom by the weaver and may have slight irregularities that are a natural outcome due to the human involvement in weaving a unique handcrafted product without any electrical power. The colours may fade or bleed due to the traditional dyeing method employed.
