Description
'MS Blue' or a unique special hue of blue is named after veteran vocalist Smt MS Subbulakshmi. It is said that MS had a liking for a special hue of blue so much so that in the 1950's, she had a premier silk saree store to custom make a saree in the colour of her liking. ‘MS Blue’, was the name given to a distinctive shade of blue, inky yet iridescent and shot through with dark blue and green highlights, and was used in saris woven specially for her. She is the only singer to have a color named after her. It is said that after she wore it for one of her concerts, the shop was flooded with calls with enquiries about the saree.
We like to call this exquisite hue of blue, Mid Sea blue. The dual shades keep changing interestingly in different lighting conditions and almost hypnotic to look at. The Jangla craft
The Jangla or Jaal design of a Banaras saree with flowers, leaves and creepers like motifs that scolls and spreads across the saree has been derived from the pattern of design that distinguishes it from other Banarasi sarees. These jungle inspired designs in Banarasi sarees are believed to be the vintage ones among Banaras brocades.
Notice the thick, closely woven brocade work, without any visual relief. The Jangla saree is a type of Banarasi brocade characterized by heavy and highly intricate weaving. All over Jaal / Jangla design gives you a stylish look. Pair with a simple silk blouse in a solid contrasting color.
* This product has been woven on a handloom by the weaver and may have slight irregularities that are a natural outcome due to the human involvement in weaving a unique handcrafted product without any electrical power. The colours may fade or bleed due to the traditional dyeing method employed.
* There may be slight differences in color of the actual product due to lighting conditions during photography.
